Casual misogyny, oppression and inequality of women is so deeply ingrained in our cultural’s fabric that most of us don’t even notice it anymore.

In our industry we are not represented in equal numbers in leadership positions. When it comes to creative roles, we’re looking at 1 woman for every 4 men. There is a root cause, and it starts at the top of our political leadership, where it permeates into our industry.

We applaud everyone who is taking action in their own way, and there is most definitely nothing wrong with eating cupcakes on International Women’s day. But once the sugar high from the icing wears off, it becomes very clear that we need more action, visibility and noise 365 days of the year.

So, let’s give ourselves license to have the conversation in a way that we know best: by using creativity.
This is our creative platform to fight casual misogyny in the creative services industry.

It is a place for all of us to surface, discuss and highlight the endemic misogyny in Australian culture and the workplace, but also champion, celebrate and surface those women and men that drive progress and deserve the spotlight through the amazing talents we have in our creative fields.
